Description of Service

This service provides all faculty, staff, and researchers with access to human resources advice, help, and support when they have questions related to their individual employment at the university or in their role as a People Leader. ConnectionPoint serves as the primary point of contact for the university community seeking employment-related advice, help, and support. Specialized human resources advice, guidance, and support for People Leaders is available from the HR Strategic Business Advisors (login required).  

ConnectionPoint service includes:

  • Gathering information related to the request and providing potential next steps.
  • Responding to individual employment-related requests including questions regarding benefits and leaves.
  • Providing support for workforce administration (i.e. job posting and recruitment, hire and onboarding services, separation and offboarding services)
  • Directing requests to alternate support channels when necessary.

Service is provided through phone, walk-ins, email, and the help and services portal (login required).

HR Strategic Business Advisors (SBAs) services include:

  • Guidance, support, and strategic advice to deans, department heads and other people leaders in a college, school or unit (or a cluster of colleges, schools or units).
  • Assistance to develop and implement people-focused solutions that achieve the unit’s priorities and outcomes.

Faculty, staff, and researchers can request advice, help, and support from ConnectionPoint using the following methods:

  • Please note: ConnectionPoint Agents are currently working remotely and our Arts location is closed at this time

Service Standards

  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs) have been added to select ConnectionPoint eForms. Processing start dates for eForms are available in the ConnectionPoint channel in PAWS.

Service Exclusions, Limitations, and Restrictions

  • Electronic job submission entry and validation services applies to hires and terminations of CUPE 1975, CUPE 3287, ASPA, exempt, faculty and senior administration employees.

Service Charges

  • There are no charges associated with using human resources advice, help, and support services.
