Description of Service
This service provides researchers with access to digital research tools (web-based software services and locally installed software packages) in support of digitally-enabled research. Specialized software provide by this service includes:
- Linux operating system installation, management, and support.
- Mathematical analysis and processing.
- Data collection and recording, such as electronic lab notebooks.
- Tools for analyzing qualitative data.
- Statistical tools.
- Survey instruments for general, behavioral, and clinical projects.
This service includes the purchase and licensing of the software, patches and updates, basic install and use, hosting, if required, and overall management of the various research software.

Service Standards
- Service levels and support commitments are outlined in the ICT Core Services Service Level Agreement.
Service Exclusions, Limitations, and Restrictions
- ICT does not provide training or support for software packages; support is limited to technical troubleshooting related to installing, hosting, and running the software packages.
- An NSID is required to access the software.
- In some cases, availability of software may be limited by the number of concurrent users licensed for use.
- Licenses may, in some cases be limited to university network use.
- Not all modules or tool boxes may be available in a particular software package.
Service Charges
- There are generally no charges associated with the research software; however, specialty software not currently offered may require fees.
