Description of Service
This service provides all students with access to computer labs and facilities at the university. These include:
- Learning Commons Computer Labs – Provide productivity, multimedia, statistical, assistive technology, and other software packages. They are located in all libraries and require an NSID to login.
- Open Student Facilities – Provide a small number of computers in the Aboriginal Students' Centre, the Indigenous Students’ Centre Lounge, and the Language Centre Lounge.
- Kiosks – Provide only Internet browsing capability and are located in public areas such as Student Central, the Global Commons, and the tunnel between the Arts Building and Place Riel.
This service also provides the virtual computer lab (vlab.usask.ca) that enables students to access applications from their personal laptop, computer or portable device (e.g. iPad) from home or on campus. This means that some specialized applications can be used without having to go to a computer lab.
