Description of Service
This service provides students with access to centrally-provided printers and photocopiers in various locations around campus.
Students can easily print, scan, and photocopy documents at the university provided printers. They can also print from their own laptops using the wireless network or a wired port.
Students can add money to their printing account by purchasing a CPAS redemption card at the following locations:
- Shop usask bookstore
- Shop usask healthsciences E-wing
- Vending machine located in Murray Library, First Floor
Additionally, students can also add money to their printing account through PAWS.
Using PAWS, students can easily:
- Transfer printing credit
- Check account balance
- Check transaction history
- Check printing history
Access
Printers available in most computer labs and common student areas are set up to use the student printing service.
Students can find the name and location of the printers in the knowledge base (login required).
Students can see rates, redeem cards, transfer money, review their printing history, and add money in PAWS (Apps and Services -> Personal -> My Printing).
- Select the Campus Print Accounting System to manage printing.
- Select Purchase printing credits to add money.
Instruction are available to print to a Learning Commons (CPAS) printer or to print to a student printer from a USB storage device (login required).
Student printing from personal devices is not supported.

Service Standards
- Service levels and support commitments are outlined in the ICT Core Services Service Level Agreement.
Service Exclusions, Limitations, and Restrictions
- Printing from personal devices is not supported.
- Functions available on printers (e.g. colour, double-sided, scanning, copying) will vary from printer to printer.
- Specialty printing (large format, wide format, labels) is not included in this service.
- Faxing is not available from these printers.
- Printing and copying content must comply with legislation such as the Copyright Act.
Service Charges
- The printing charges pay for the costs of the hardware, software and supplies:
- Black and White: 10 cents per page (or per side if printing/photocopying double-sided)
- Colour: 25 cents per page (or per side if printing/photocopying double-sided)
- Students will need to have enough funds in their CPAS account to print and their account cannot have a negative balance. CPAS does not provide refunds for any print credit left in an account.
- 5% GST is included in the cost of print and copy services provided by CPAS. The University GST business number is 11927 9313RT.
