Description of Service
This service provides faculty and staff with access to a wide range of technology-based services to support and enhance teaching and learning activities, across all disciplines both inside and outside the classroom. The service includes:
- Providing a learning management ecosystem that facilitates content delivery, assignment handling, grading, and other academic activities.
- Providing a video management ecosystem that supports lecture capture, academic video creation, management, and distribution, video streaming and integration with the learning management system.
- Enabling digital exams and quizzes, as well as providing scanning for exams and course evaluations using Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) so that they can be processed electronically.
- Supporting classroom/course collaboration though virtual classrooms, meeting rooms, etc.
- Providing and maintaining fixed and portable multimedia equipment in centrally booked classrooms, theaters, etc.
- Providing Emergency Classroom support via a call in help line.
- Providing documentation and instruction for all classrooms on campus.
- Providing an e-portfolio to collect accomplishments from academic activities in support of reflective learning.
- Providing a system to manage a co-curricular record for students.
- Providing a student response/student engagement system that can be used to moderate class-wide discussions and help increase student engagement with interactive questions, class-wide tournaments, and more.
- Providing a student and instructor blogging platform for related teaching and learning experiences.
- Providing an open textbook publishing platform for the USask community to share and publish knowledge.
- Supporting the online delivery of the Student Learning Experience Questionnaire (SLEQ) teaching evaluation.
- Consulting and advising on the selection, implementation, integration, and use of Teaching and Learning Technologies.
This service also facilitates the use of other technologies and services, such as web conferencing, in support of teaching and learning.

Service Exclusions, Limitations, and Restrictions
- Course content development and course content entry is the responsibility of the college/unit/department.
- Support for Curriculum Development and Renewal and Course Design is provided by the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning.
Service Charges
- There are generally no charges associated with using the teaching and learning service.
- Fees may apply for usage outside the standard teaching and learning ecosystem.
- Support for legacy systems that are not part of the core service will have some charges associated with them.
