Description of Service

This service provides the university community with, sustainable, clean, and safe grounds and landscape. This service is responsible for the continuing preservation of the campus grounds including sidewalks, roadways, green spaces, and university building entrances.

This service includes:

  • Maintaining the road and sidewalk networks, including snow removal and ice management during the winter.
  • Maintaining the grounds (mowing, weeding flower beds, pruning shrubs, pruning trees, bug control, stump removal, broken branch removal, and planting replacement trees).
  • Providing pest management for the campus.
  • Maintaining outdoor university signage.

Faculty, staff, and students can report grounds, walkways, and roadways support using the following methods:

Availability of Support

Core Hours: 8:00 am–4:00 pm Monday to Friday
After Hours: Outside of core hours, please phone 306-966-5555 to report any urgent grounds issues.


Service Standards


Service Exclusions, Limitations, and Restrictions

  • Facilities is responsible for addressing all physical plant and grounds maintenance needs.
  • Requests for grounds, walkways, and roadways services are subject to seasonal demand.
  • Repair and maintenance needs for grounds, walkways, and roadways will be prioritized ahead of discretionary services.

Service Charges

  • There are generally no service charges for grounds, walkways, and roadways services; however, if departments require specialized services, charges may apply.
  • Fees will apply for grounds, walkways, and roadways services in departmental gated compound areas.
